A well-deserved award pick up for Jalen Green.
Jalen Green had a great week this past week. It just got even better, The NBA announced that he was named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for January 13-19.

Green helped lead the Rockets to a 3-1 record last week, and he averaged 32.5 points per game on 60.5 percent shooting from the field and 63.6 percent from deep. He tallied 42, 34, 28 and 26 points in Houston’s four games.
On the season, Green has averaged 21.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game on 43.6 percent shooting from the floor and 36 percent from deep. However, over his last 15 games, Green has averaged 25.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists on 48.4 percent from the field and 43.2 percent from three.
The Rockets currently sit at second place in the Western Conference at 28-14, as they are a half game in front the Memphis Grizzlies and seven games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. Green’s more consistent play has been one of the main reasons why Houston has been so good this year, along with a suffocating defense, Alperen Sengun continuing to develop and Amen Thompson coming into his own.
The Rockets lost their first game of the week this week to the Detroit Pistons on MLK Day, and now have a home-and-home series coming up with the Cleveland Cavaliers to finish out the week. They’ll need Green to be at his best for that two-game set with the Cavs.
