The last time the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings met, Houston led by 54-43 in the second quarter. Sacramento then made their next 15 straight shots. Over the ensuing 7:51 of game time, the Kings scored 33 points (a 200-point pace for Sacramento) and the game was essentially over.
Except, it wasn’t. Houston cut the lead to single digits and were within six points with eight minutes remaining. Then it became the ref show (in Houston’s eyes, obviously, as I’m sure Kings fans felt like the game was officiated properly) and it led to ejections for Alperen Sengun and Ime Udoka, who gave us this gem in the postgame presser.
The Kings lost on Tuesday, which snapped a 7-game winning streak for newly-minted coach Doug Christie. The Kings have relied more on Keon Ellis during this stretch, and the youngster is rewarding them. Also, it’s basically a guarantee that Kevin Huerter will have a great game against Houston since that’s what he does and the Rockets always have to let a random player go off.
Tonight’s game is on TNT, so head over to Playback to catch the game if you don’t have access.
We’ll be in the Playback room tonight, so you should come join to watch the Rockets and talk about the game. Remember, we get a handful of VIP passes that we give out to anyone who wants to watch the game. No League Pass necessary!
