Houston looks to bounce back against the contending Knicks
You might remember the last time the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks played at Toyota Center.
Jalen Brunson got called for a late foul that the Knicks protested to the league. Rockets fans, fully remembering Dunkgate against the Spurs and the grief that opposing fans directed towards Houston, launched jibes at their own towards the Knickerbockers. Eventually, the Knicks did the “Oh we never actually filed a protest” thing and all was forgotten.
Anyway, tonight is a big game for Houston, They bounced back after their first bad loss of the year against Charlotte, and now must do so against the Knicks after a disappointing game against Golden State.
All six of Houston’s games so far have involved a team building a big lead and then getting chased down (or almost chased down).
- Game 1: Houston led by 18 but were caught in the second half by the Hornets
- Game 2: Houston trailed by 12 in the first half before grabbing their most “comfortable” win of the season against Memphis
- Game 3: Houston trailed by 22 but couldn’t complete the comeback in San Antonio
- Game 4: Houston led by 21 and were barely able to hold off the San Antonio comeback
- Game 5: Houston led by 23 and were barely able to hold off the Dallas comeback
- Game 6: Houston trailed by 31 and forced overtime before losing to Golden State
So maybe, just maybe, we can have a normal game where one team (preferably Houston) comfortably leads throughout and their opponents (again, preferably the Knicks) just sort of give up and don’t have a big infusion of hope randomly in the third quarter. Can that happen please?
Xiane will be in the Playback room tonight, so you should come join to watch the Rockets and talk about the game. Remember, we get a handful of VIP passes that we give out to anyone who wants to watch the game. No League Pass necessary!
