Houston tries to respond to their heartbreaking loss to Minnesota
After a heartbreaking loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a game they should have closed out easily, the Houston Rockets look to bounce back against the Miami Heat.
And for the first time all year, the Rockets will be playing a team on a back-to-back without being on one themselves. Yes, Houston has had a couple of rest advantage games this season, but they’ve all been situations in where Houston had two or three days off and their opponents had one or two, respectively. Of course, the Heat played an early game on Saturday so even this rest advantage isn’t the full one that Minnesota got against Houston. Because even when we have nice things, they’re not as nice as Kyle’s down the street.
So that’s a nice bit of luck for a team that could use one. In the tightly-packed Western Conference, one bad week can send a team from “in the playoffs” to “fighting for the play-in.” The Rockets have only lost back-to-back games once this season, and it’s that sort of ability to regain form that has Houston in position to make the postseason for the first time since the Bubble.
Miami will be without Jimmy Butler, who is out for “conditioning,” though maybe that means a “reconditioning” from the Heat hypnotists to get him to buy back into “Heat Culture” after his trade request that also hasn’t happened, per Jimmy Butler’s agent, or won’t happen, per Pat Riley? It’s a confusing time in Miami, but this is a team that plays in a lot of close games and seems to win all of them.
We’ll be in the Playback room tonight, so you should come join to watch the Rockets and talk about the game. Remember, we get a handful of VIP passes that we give out to anyone who wants to watch the game. No League Pass necessary!
