The Rockets close out the “first half” of the season with a visit from the rival Warriors
Tonight is the final night of NBA basketball before the All-Star break. All ten teams playing tonight played last night as all 30 teams in the Association were in action.
The Houston Rockets won their second straight game, this time over the undermanned Phoenix Suns. The Golden State Warriors were in Dallas to take on an undermanned Mavericks team.
Houston got a bit of an advantage last night because the Suns had been on a back-to-back and the first game was on national television. That forced the Suns to play all of their questionable guys against Memphis and hold them out against Houston. Meanwhile, the Warriors also played last night on national television and had everyone available. It’s possible that they sit some players, but they could just as likely play them knowing that everyone is getting a week off after tonight.
In addition to the expected injury absences from Fred VanVleet and Jabari Smith Jr., Houston will be without the services of Tari Eason and Steven Adams, who don’t play back-to-backs.
We’ll be in the Playback room tonight, so you should come join to watch the Rockets and talk about the game. Remember, we get a handful of VIP passes that we give out to anyone who wants to watch the game. No League Pass necessary!
