Houston Rockets Guard Reportedly Arrested In New York City

Houston Rockets second-leading scorer Kevin Porter Jr. was reportedly arrested on Monday.

According to Bleacher Report (via ABC News), the 23-year-old guard was arrested in New York City for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick.

Porter is reportedly in custody in midtown Manhattan.

According to police sources with ABC, Porter returned early in the morning from a night out in Times Square, where he and Gondrezick were staying. Gondrezick was upset with how late he returned and locked the door. Once he entered with the help of hotel security, Porter is said to have beat her up.

The extent of her injuries aren’t clear at this time. But the former No. 4 overall pick in the WNBA draft is pressing domestic charges.

Last season, Porter had the best statistical season of his career with Houston. Averaging a career-high 19.2 points to go along with 5.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game.
