The Rockets met with Brooks earlier today, according to The Athletic. The 27-year-old player had previously met with the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers, but it appears he’s found his next landing spot in Houston.
Brooks averaged 14.3 points per game on 39.6% shooting from the field in his sixth season with the Grizzlies. He became a seriously controversial figure when he called out LeBron James during Memphis’ playoff series against the Lakers — and his shooting production took a serious dip during the postseason.
This is the Rockets’ second major move of the free agency period. On Friday, the team signed former Toronto Raptors point guard Fred Van Vleet on a three-year, $130 million contract.
