Despite being taunted and goaded endlessly by Houston Rockets star Dillon Brooks over the past few months and leading up to tonight’s game, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James had nothing but nice things to say about him.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, LeBron spoke highly of Brooks and said that he’s earned the contract the Rockets gave him in the offseason. He said that it’s always fun to go out and compete with anyone and that Brooks is no different in that regard.
NBA fans were a little bit mixed on that reaction from the four-time NBA champion. Some feel that it’s yet another sign that he’s more honorable than he gets credit for while others wished that he would be meaner to people for calling him out.
Still others pointed out that his comment about Brooks earning his contract with Houston was completely backhanded because he says that about everyone:
Lebron is such a honorable man the way he talks about his opponents. He never takes shit personal. https://t.co/0KCT7o78H0

This will mark the first meeting between LeBron and Dillon Brooks since the NBA playoffs, when Brooks’ Grizzlies lost to LeBron’s Lakers in six games.
Brooks parlayed his strong performance in the game into a sign-and-trade with Houston in the ensuing offseason.
Who will come out on top today?
