When the Houston Rockets host their annual public practice on Sunday, they will unveil changes as large as 34-by-57 feet and as small as roughly 2½ inches-by-2½ inches. They could be equally conspicuous. The Rockets will add a uniform sponsor patch showcasing their frequent partner, Memorial-Hermann Health Systems, the title sponsor of their new practice facility and basketball headquarters that opened this summer. They will also show off the new 6,200 square-foot video board at Toyota Center, an increase of 84% more LED surface area than the video board in past seasons. Though some of the advantages of the new technology, made possible by a new control room, will be held for opening night Oct. 23, the advancements with a new video screen should be obvious on Sunday.
