C.J. Stroud said following a 34-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings that he’s worried about the Houston Texans’ status entering Week 4.
For now, it’s best to believe him.
“We’re still a force to be reckoned with. and we’re still very dangerous,” he said Sunday. “We’ve built a foundation solid on rock. We’re not going to act like everything was perfect out there, but we’re not going to act like there wasn’t some positives.”
Stroud had little help, but that doesn’t excuse the overall below-average play for three-and-half quarters at U.S. Bank Stadium. On his pass attempt, the ball was batted at the line and landed in the arms of Vikings linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill.
The second interception was just a bad read from a second-year passer. Stroud finished 20-of-31 for 215 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. It was his second career multi-interception game and his first since Week 11’s win over the Cardinals last season.
Stroud’s miscues factored into Houston’s loss, but was he the worst passer of Week 3? Does he still land inside the top 10 passers entering next’s week matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars?
