Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud said that “focus” is the primary emphasis on closing out games entering Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“Just focus every play in and out. And just not hang your head down after one bad play,” Stroud said Wednesday. “Learning to just move on from it and continue to just trust in yourself, trust in everybody around you. I think that’s what we can do to have four quarters of good offense.”
The Texans are trying to get back to their winning ways after falling short in Week 12 against the Tennessee Titans. Stroud tossed two early touchdowns to tie the game at 17 apiece, but his two interceptions led to scoring drives for the two-win Titans en route to a 32-27 victory.
Houston is focused on Week 13’s showdown at EverBank Stadium. Despite a 2-9 record, Jacksonville has talent, especially on the defensive side like cornerback Tyson Campbell, safety Andre Cisco, defensive end Josh Hines-Allen and linebacker Devin Lloyd.
“I don’t think the record speaks to the team they are,” Stroud said. “It’s another great challenge, defensively, for us. They’ve played against a lot of good teams and held them to a lot less points. They played Minnesota very well, played Philly very well. So, we’ve got to come with our A-game knowing that every game takes every single play from the start to the finish to get a W.”
Here are some of the highlights from Stroud’s press conference on Wednesday.
