Eight practices into training camp and Stefon Diggs looks like the No. 1 target for the Houston Texans.
He also continues to show why he’s been considered one of the top playmakers over his past six seasons.
During Friday’s practice in one-on-one drills, C.J. Stroud targeted Diggs in coverage against cornerback Kris Boyd. As he cut back, Boyd grabbed Diggs’ chest to slow him down from making a play.
Stroud had already released the pass and Diggs wasn’t going to let a ball hit the ground. Extending his arm, the four-time Pro Bowler lived up to his name by snagging the ball with one hand.
After the catch, he celebrated with fans in the stands, who continue to show out during the rainy mornings at the Methodist Training Center.

Since arriving in Houston, Diggs has been Stroud’s top target. During team drills, it always seems as if he’s finding creases in coverage to get open. In one-on-one drills, he’s lost one rep in three days.
Diggs, whose 445 catches have led the NFL since 2020, doesn’t plan on dropping passes. So long as fans continue to cheer, Diggs will deliver.
He plans on making these types of catches during the regular season when the Texans kick off the regular season against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 8.
