The 2024 NFL season has concluded with Super Bowl LIX in the book. Philadelphia gets to brag back to the City of Brotherly Love as the defending champs next season while Kansas City will live in the “what could have been” world.
Now, all focus shifts to the 2025 offseason. For the Houston Texans, they’ll be looking to overhaul the roster with new head coach Ben Johnson in free agency and the 2025 NFL draft.
Houston has 25 players scheduled to become free agents in 2025 according to Over The Cap, including some key starters and contributors. All-Pro receiver Stefon Diggs headlines the group, but he’s not the only top name that could be suiting up elsewhere come Week 1.
There are some big decisions general manager Nick Caserio has to make about key contributors slated to hit free agency. Diggs could be back on a prove-it one-year deal after being limited to eight games, but what about Robert Woods? How about Eric Murray? Will the Texans let reliable special teams star Dare Ogbunbowale leave?
The 2025 free agency negotiation window begins March 10, where teams can negotiate with available players. The free agency period officially opens officially on March 12. The Texans will have roughly around $3 million in available salary cap space for the 2025 season via Over the Cap, which is the sixth lowest in the NFL.
