The Houston Texans are without a couple of players at OTAs this week.
Both wide receiver Stefon Diggs and offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil are not present on Tuesday’s second day of OTAs.
Some may make a big deal out of it but these practices are optional for players. Most players still come to them since they get to be around their teammates but if some don’t, it’s because they’re doing their own thing.
It’ll be more noteworthy if Tunsil and Diggs don’t show up to minicamp from June 11-13. Those practices are mandatory and serve as an appetizer for training camp, which starts in July.
Diggs was acquired from the Buffalo Bills earlier this year and gives the Texans a true number-one wideout heading into the season. He finished the 2023 season with 107 receptions for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns.
Tunsil has spent the last five seasons with the Texans and started 14 games this past season. He’s appeared in 108 games throughout his eight-year career and has also made 108 starts.
The Texans won the AFC South during the 2023 season before losing in the divisional round of the playoffs against the Baltimore Ravens.
