Both times, they’ve lost to new faces of H-Town, including Sunday at Nissan Stadium in the regular season finale, 23-14.
Week 18 went about as well as Houston could have hoped before entering the postseason. C.J. Stroud and the first-team offense marched down the field on the opening drive and scored. Joe Mixon and Nico Collins each surpassed 1,000 yards, and the defense improved its run stoppage from the previous game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Houston already secured the fourth seed, but head coach DeMeco Ryans felt it was necessary to get the team back on track before the postseason. The Texans will play the Chargers in a wild-card round at NRG Stadium next week.
Houston avoided a sweep against the Titans and earned its 10th victory of the season, which gives it 10 wins in back-to-back years for the first time since 2019. Below are five takeaways from the Texans’ win.
