The Buffalo Bills’ stunning loss to the Denver Broncos has everyone in Orchard Park scratching their heads. But while some in the organization are soul-searching, others – like star wide receiver Stefon Diggs – are starting to see that a change is necessary.
There were already grumblings before the season that Diggs was dissatisfied with something going on in Buffalo. The team’s 5-5 start and three losses in the last four games have some wondering if the Bills front office will break things up after this season.
Diggs is certainly the most valuable trade piece that the Bills may have heading into 2024 – whether they make the playoffs or not. And if the answer is in the affirmative, there are a few teams that should be eagerly waiting in the wings with a trade offer.
Here are three teams that should be ready to trade for Stefon Diggs in 2024:
1. New York Giants
The Giants might have a lot of soul-searching to do in the offseason as far as the state of their quarterback goes. But regardless of who’s under center in 2024, the Giants need someone reliable to throw to and Diggs ticks off every box.
It certainly helps that the Giants’ front office consists of many people who were a part of the Buffalo team that brought Diggs into the fold there in the first place.
2. Houston Texans
The Texans have a legit superstar at quarterback in C.J. Stroud and the next step the franchise needs to take is surrounding him with talent.
Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Noah Brown are good, but Stefon Diggs would be an upgrade over all of them.
The AFC South is ripe for the taking and if the Texans can win this renewed arms race, they can go from scrap heap to top of the heap in short order.
3. Dallas Cowboys
Pairing Cowboys superstar CeeDee Lamb with Stefon Diggs would not only give the team a better set of receivers than their counterparts in Philadelphia, it would make life even easier on quarterback Dak Prescott.
Of course, all of that may depend on how far the team is able to go in the playoffs this year…
