C.J. Stroud received an invitation to the 2024 Pro Bowl Games. He’ll join fellow Houston Texans first-round pick Will Anderson at this week’s showcase in Orlando, Florida.
The selection creates a cool moment for the organization. Houston noted that Stroud and Anderson are the first pair of Texans rookies to make the Pro Bowl.

In 21 seasons of existence, the franchise has enjoyed other demonstrative first-round hits in Andre Johnson, J.J. Watt, Duane Brown, and DeAndre Hopkins. But they secured two long-term cornerstones when selecting Stroud with the No. 2 pick and trading up for the next choice to snag Anderson.
Stroud began his NFL career by tallying 4,108 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions with a 100.8 quarterback rating. He led Houston to a first-round playoff win over the Cleveland Browns with 274 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Anderson instantly anchored Houston’s offense with 22 quarterback hits and seven sacks in 15 games.
Per Pro Football Reference, the neophytes are the first Texans draft selections to make the Pro Bowl (in any season) since 2017 pick Deshaun Watson. They hadn’t drafted two Pro Bowlers in the same year since nabbing offensive linemen Brandon Brooks and Ben Jones in 2012.
Down the line, Stroud and Anderson can become the first pair of multi-time Pro Bowlers from the same draft since Mario Williams and their head coach, DeMeco Ryans.
