Back home in the Houston heat, the Texans are taking a new approach to the upcoming season.
The Texans will practice midday over the next two days in preparation for their third preseason game against the New York Giants. The sun will be scorching. Minds will be tested. Bodies will be pushed to the limits. So will the structure of facing off against the power of the sun.
That’s how DeMeco Ryans wants it heading into an unpredictable 2024 season.
“Like I tell our guys, for me, it’s about adversity, and when it hits you, how do you respond?” Ryans said on Tuesday. “Some guys responded well today, some guys didn’t.”
Houston is getting healthy at the right time. Running back Joe Mixon and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil returned to practice. So did rookie cornerback Kamari Lassiter, who likely will make his Texans’ debut on Saturday at NRG Stadium.
