With CJ Stroud still working through concussion protocol, the Houston Texans added to their quarterback depth on Tuesday.
One day after attempting to claim former Jaguars quarterback Nathan Rourke, who wound up in New England, the Texans signed veteran journeyman Tim Boyle to their practice squad, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Boyle most recently spent time with the New York Jets this season. In three games (two starts), the 29-year-old signal caller completed 48-of-77 passes for 360 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions.
For his career, Boyle has thrown for 934 yards, four touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 20 games.

Stroud, the frontrunner for Offensive Rookie of the Year, missed Sunday’s game while dealing with the concussion he suffered in a loss to the Jets on Dec. 10.
Case Keenum started in Stroud’s place, connecting on 23-of-36 passes for 229 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a 19-16 overtime win over the Tennessee Titans.
Houston also has third-year pro Davis Mills, the team’s primary starter in 2021-22, on its roster.
