For the second weekend in a row, the Texans won’t have rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud under center.
Stroud missed last Sunday’s game against the Titans due to a concussion. The No. 2 pick suffered the injury on Dec. 10 against the Jets.
On Friday, the Texans officially ruled out Stroud for Sunday’s game against the Browns. This isn’t a huge surprise since he didn’t participate in practice at all this week.

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans has stressed the importance of being patient with Stroud’s health, especially since it’s a head injury.
“At the end of the day, the most important thing is making sure that C.J. is healthy,” Ryans said. “When he’s ready to go, he’ll be ready to go. I’ll let you guys know.”
Case Keenum will once again start for the Texans. Last weekend, the journeyman quarterback completed 23-of-36 pass attempts for 229 yards with one touchdown and an interception.
