The Houston Texans are reportedly signing cornerback Shaquill Griffin on a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The 27-year-old veteran suited up for the Jacksonville Jaguars this past season, but played in just five games as he dealt a nagging back injury.

Griffin, a Pro Bowler in 2019, spent the first four seasons of his NFL career in Seattle after the Seahawks selected him with a third-round pick in the 2017 draft. He signed a three-year, $44.5 million deal with the Jaguars prior to the 2021 season, but was released by Jacksonville in March.
In Houston, Griffin gets to play under a defensive-minded head coach in DeMeco Ryans.
Griffin will likely slot into the starting cornerback spot across from 2022 No. 3 overall pick Derek Stingley Jr. — sharing the secondary with starting safeties Jimmie Ward and Jalen Pitre.
