The Houston Texans’ offense just took a significant hit on Wednesday.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, starting offensive lineman Tytus Howard is expected to be ruled out for the rest of the season following Sunday’s knee injury and will likely undergo surgery.
The injury marks the second of the year for Howard, who missed the team’s first four games with a broken hand after signing a three-year, $56 million contract extension this offseason.

Howard went down in the first quarter of Houston’s game vs. the Jags and had to be helped off the field with the assistance of the team’s training staff.
The injury could be a massive setback for the 6-5 Texans, who are looking to make a playoff push in DeMeco Ryans’ first year as a head coach. Howard was replaced by rookie second-round pick Juice Scruggs, who had just been activated from injured reserve right before game day.
We’ll see how they hold up this weekend when the Broncos come to town at 1 PM ET.
