The Houston Texans finally return to their winning ways behind a performance to remember from Joe Mixon out in Arlington on “Monday Night Football.”
Mixon, who could be this year’s revival player, rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns en route to a 34-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. Monday marked the fourth 100-yard outing in the last five appearances for Mixon, who at one point was figured to be “washed up” with the Cincinnati Bengals.
“Joe has been amazing. He’s been somebody who came in, taught guys how to win more, because we won some games last year,” quarterback C.J. Stroud said postgame.” He taught guys what it takes to get to that goal. We are not there yet, but we are taking strides.”
Stroud, who struggled last week against the Detroit Lions, completed 67.6 % of his throws for 275 yards and an interception. Derek Barnett stripped-sack Cowboys quarterback Cooper and eventually found his way into the end zone on a 28-yard scoop-and-score.
Pro Football Focus handed out player grades for those who took a snap in Houston’s surefire win in the Lone Star Showdown, and we broke them down by offense and defense. Below are the five highest and lowest grades on both sides after what could be considered the Texans’ most confident performance of the regular season.
There were few surprises in terms of the highest- and lowest-graded players, both on offense and defense. In fact, most of you can already guess who graded out stellar and horrendous fashion.
Here’s a look at Houston’s grade as it prepares for a Sunday Funday at home against the Tennessee Titans.
