Houston Texans offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil made his thoughts on defensive end Jonathan Greenard very clear.
The Pro Bowler replied to a social media video of Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans discussing Greenard’s impending free agency with a two-word message: “Pay him.”
Pay him!

In the video, Ryans said that the team loved what Greenard did in 2023 and they’d love to have him back in 2024, but that “we’ll see” when it comes to what happens in free agency.
Greenard led the team with 12.5 sacks this past season but could command a huge deal this offseason. Pass rushers are a hot commodity in the NFL and good ones can land deals worth more than $13 million annually on the open market. The Texans have interest in keeping Greenard, according to KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson, but that doesn’t mean he’s a lock to return.
Houston has a plethora of internal free agents and around $67 million in salary cap space. Greenard could be in the team’s offseason plans, and at least one of their best players wants him back. We’ll see what general manager Nick Caserio does this spring.
