One drive won’t define a game, but it certainly has factored into the Texans’ current score.
The crowd noise at U.S. Bank Stadium definitely played a factor against Texans’ offense during the second quater. Ona third-and-4, C.J. Stroud looked to convert and get deeper into field goal range.
A false start on Tytus Howard made it third-and-9. Before Stroud could call for the ball, the crowd noise reached new decibles, leading to Juice Scruggs false starting and a third-and-14.
That was the end of the Texans’ offensive line woes. Laremy Tunsil was flagged with his second false start to make it third-and-19. And just to add insult to the injury, Tunsil picked up his fourth penatly flag with an illegal formation.
While the Texans might not have scored a touchdown, settling for a Ka’imi Fairbairn field goal could have been a tone-setter entering halftime. Thanks to four penalties, Houston had to punt.
Fans made sure to vent their frustrations after the drive and clearly aren’t happy with the offensive game plan. The Texans must wake up entering the third quarter if they want to secure a 3-0 start.
