How do Houston Texans fans feel after the first drive against a winless Jacksonville Jaguars team?
In the great words of Pete Campbell from “Mad Men,” not great, Bob.
The Texans trail 7-0 following a 2-yard touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence to rookie Brian Thomas Jr. That might have happened regardless of Sunday’s outcome. Still, Houston gave the Jaguars a prime opportunity to pounce.
After a third down stop, Logan Cooke punted deep in Texans’ territory, but Steven Sims muffed the catch at the 2-yard line. A play later, Lawrence and the Jags took the lead.
Fans were livid on social media after the play, knowing the touchdown could have been avoided.
