Thursday night was a breeze for the Houston Texans. Friday night could be a war.
With a record-setting 23 offensive players taken in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, the defensive talent has fallen into Day 2. Houston’s offense looks built to win a title in 2024 after securing Pro Bowlers Joe Mixon and Stefon Diggs.
The defense? While improved, the Texans could benefit from building up their interior trenches. It would benefit DeMeco Ryans’ unit to add a linebacker, cornerback, or safety prospect, too.
The Texans own three picks in Rounds 2 and 3, though that number is expected to change given GM Nick Caserio’s track record. Since taking over for Bill O’Brien in 2021, Caserio has made over a dozen trades on draft weekend, including a franchise-record eight last April.
Here’s a look at who the latest mock drafts have the Bears selecting in Rounds 2 and 3.
