The Houston Texans need a rebounding victory after blowing a 16-point first-half lead against the Detroit Lions on ‘Sunday Night Football.’
The good news? Dak Prescott won’t be suiting up for the Dallas Cowboys for the rest of 2024.
Houston hits the road and heads north to Arlington to take on a struggling Cowboys roster on ‘Monday Night Football’ at AT&T Stadium. Most eyes will be on the duo of C.J. Stroud and Micah Parsons, who have been building for this Lone Star Showdown since January.
Others will be checking out the stats to see where the two stack up against one another in hopes of securing a victory and bragging rights.
The Texans have to respond after last week’s blunder. Stroud tossed two second-half interceptions, including one in the end zone to keep it a 10-point game. Jared Goff threw five picks, but the two in the second half never led to scoring drives.
With the loss, Houston became the second team since 1933 to lose a game in which they caught five interceptions and led by at least 15. Previously, teams were 373-1-1 when leading by at least 15 and snagging five interceptions.
As for the Cowboys, Cooper Rush is expected to start for the second time after Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He completed 13-of-26 passes for 45 yards and lost two fumbles. He also was sacked once.
Trey Lance, the former No. 3 overall pick, filled in for the fourth quarter and struggled, completing 4-of-6 pass attempts for 21 yards and an interception.
Here’s how the Texans and Cowboys stack up statistically ahead of Monday’s matchup.
