C.J. Stroud has been one of the pleasant surprises of the 2023 NFL season. But Shannon Sharpe took it a step further after the rookie QB led the Texans to another comeback win on Sunday.
Taking to Twitter, the Hall of Famer said that there could soon be an MVP award in the 22-year-old’s future.
“C.J. Stroud has played the best qb in the NFL this season,” Sharpe claimed. “Yes, he’s been that good and I said it. Go argue in a cave with your echo. Could become 1st rookie 2 win MVP since J. Brown in 1957. … #StroudOutdueledBurrow.”

Stroud finished with 359 yards in Houston’s 30-27 win and was able to battle through a couple of turnovers to help set up a walk-off field goal for his team.
The second overall pick has been nothing but impressive in his first NFL season and has fans around Texas thinking they may have found their franchise quarterback.
After going 3-13-1 in 2022, the Texans are 5-4 and sit at second in the AFC South.
