Some people should keep their predictions to themselves.
Rex Ryan
I never realized the Los Angeles Chargers got a bye—that they qualified for a bye. But they did because they’re playing Houston!
Former Houston Oilers defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan knew better than to dog the Houston football faithful. Unfortunately, his son Rex didn’t learn that lesson until this past Saturday.
For those who didn’t catch it, last week, the Jr Ryan cast aspersion on the Houston Texans when he commented that the Jim Harbaugh led Los Angeles Chargers essentially had a bye week in the Wild Card Round of the 2020 NFL Playoffs.
During an appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up” earlier in the week, Rex Ryan hit the Texans with a disrespectful take by saying that the Chargers basically got a “bye” in the match-up. Ryan implied that it was an automatic and easy win for Jim Harbaugh’s men because Houston was that bad.
Unfortunately for Ryan’s career as a prognosticator, and Harbaugh’s Chargers, no one in H-Town got the Bye Week memo.
But that isn’t to say the Texans didn’t hear about it. They just didn’t bow down to the failed former head coach’s ridiculous comment.
Not only did the Texans prove an awful lot of people wrong, but Ryan stepped up and admitted he was oh so wrong.

Next time Ryan should ask RGIII for some pre-game insight, cause the post game commentary is on point.
Robert Griffin III
The Houston Texans are hitting their stride at the right time. 250+ yard passer, 100+ yard rusher and 100+ yard receiver on O. 4 Sacks, 4 ints, gave up 2.8 yards/carry, perfect on all FGs and pinned a punt inside the 20. TOTAL TEAM WIN in all phases. CJ Stroud got them rolling.
Good morning to everyone but Los Angeles, @chargers fans & Rex Ryan. I haven’t seen someone regret saying something on camera this much since, well, you were talking about feet. A lot. Anyway, here’s 3 minutes of the @HoustonTexans obliterating your “bye week.” #HTownMade pic.twitter.com/SVS9DPsK5j

Now let’s see if DeMeco Ryans and the Texans can carry that mojo through the divisional round. Next week the Kansas City Chiefs aren’t getting a bye week either. But the Texans have their work cut out for them, for sure.
