In what has become a rather disturbing trend at MetLife Stadium yet another NFL player suffered a serious injury while playing on the artificial turf and the turf is considered a factor in the injury.
According to Houston Texans insider Aaron Wilson of KPRC, Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. is in a walking boot after suffering a high-ankle sprain against the Jets this past week. Per the report, the artificial turf is seen as “a factor” in a slew of injuries that the Texas suffered in their 30-6 loss on Sunday.
“The infamous artificial turf at MetLife Stadium where several other Texans players got injured Sunday, including quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion), linebacker Blake Cashman (hamstring), cornerback Tavierre Thomas (hamstring) and wide receiver Nico Collins (calf), is regarded as a factor in Anderson’s injury,” Wilson wrote.
MetLife’s turf has been criticized heavily for a rash of major injuries that have occurred on it this year with the most notable being Aaron Rodgers on just the fourth play from scrimmage this season.

Other players who have suffered major injuries since 2020 alone include Nick Bosa, Raheem Mostert, Sterling Shepard, Jimmy Garoppolo, Jabrill Peppers and Jaelan Phillips.
With so many injuries to both home and away players you have to wonder what in the world is stopping the Jets and Giants from just ending the variable and putting down some significantly safer grass.
If nothing else, it will at least stop the criticism.
