NFL World Reacts To C.J. Stroud, Titans Trade Rumor

They could write books about all of the draft trades and moves that nearly happened. And according to MMQB’s Albert Breer, the Tennessee Titans almost took a big swing in an attempt to land Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud.

Per Breer (via NFL reporter Dov Kleiman): “Titans were attempting to trade up to the 3rd overall pick for QB C.J. Stroud in the 2023 Draft prior to the Texans taking him 2nd overall. Once Houston picked Stroud, Titans ‘dropped out of the bidding’ for the trade … Now Titans face him twice a year.”

The NFL world reacted to the Tennessee draft day trade rumor on Wednesday.

“And now you know where all the negative leaks came from about Stroud,” a user replied.

“There you have it,” tweeted Michael Schwab. “Smart of the Texans to take Stroud at [2] and then trade up for Anderson.”

“Which is why you take Stroud 1st and then make the trade to get Will Anderson. Package Deal. Evaluate how the QB does to accurately judge the trade,” said Landry Locker.

“I truly wonder if the Texans played themselves. The market might have collapsed after they took Stroud but they still paid the price that was set the night before.”
