This isn’t the first time this year we’ve seen the NRG Stadium roof show signs of wear.
Before the College Football Playoff National Championship in January, water could be seen leaking through, though it didn’t have any effect on the game.
Beryl has wreaked havoc in and around Houston this week. As of Monday afternoon, more than three million people were reportedly without power.
According to PowerOutage.us, more than two million people in the state of Texas were still without power as of this afternoon. In addition, Houston has been hit with a batch of deadly heat this week, making cleanup efforts more difficult and dangerous.
“The heat index in Houston passed 100 degrees on Tuesday,” said CNN. The heat index measures how the body feels under both heat and humidity.
“Both Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby International Airport reported a heat index of 103 degrees by early Tuesday afternoon. Air temperatures in the region will climb into the 90s through at least early next week.”
