NFL fans are blasting NBC on social media this week for editing C.J. Stroud’s postgame interview with sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen.
After leading the Houston Texans to a Wild Card victory over the Cleveland Browns, Stroud showed his faith by thanking his “lord and savior.”
“First of all, I just want to give all glory and praise to my lord and savior, Jesus Christ,” Stroud said. “I mean, it’s been amazing being in this city for as short as I’ve been but the love that I’ve got. I’ve really just been doing it for Houston, man. The people back home, I’m blessed enough to be in the position that I’m in and blessed enough to be playing at a high level right now. We gotta just keep it going, but I’m super blessed.”
NBC shared Stroud’s postgame interview on X, but oddly decided to remove any religious references he made.

Fans quickly noticed that NBC cut out the part where Stroud says, “First of all, I just want to give all glory and praise to my lord and savior, Jesus Christ.” That obviously didn’t sit well with them.
“He also has a lot of love for Jesus,” one fan commented. “Unreal what you’re doing.”
Another person replied, “He’s got a lot of love for Jesus Christ too, but you edited that out for some reason. Why?”
It’s unclear why NBC edited Stroud’s postgame interview. All we know is their social media team has been under heavy fire past few days.
