The Houston Texans shocked the football world on Thursday night with their stunning move.
Houston selected quarterback C.J. Stroud with the No. 2 overall pick. It was a successful smokescreen from the Texans, who had the football world believing they’d pass on a quarterback.
But they weren’t quite done. Just moments after selecting Stroud, the team traded back up to No. 3 in the draft with the Arizona Cardinals to select former Alabama star Will Anderson.
Most of the football world was stunned by the move – but not everyone.
“If you hear ‘with the second pick of the 2023 NFL draft the Houston Texans select CJ Stroud’ my guess is that they have a trade up coming for Anderson, Willis or another player on the defensive front,” NFL analyst Lance Zierlein said.

Perhaps we should ask Zierlein about the lottery numbers.
