Unlike some other early teams in this year’s draft, the Houston Texans aren’t necessarily a lock to select a quarterback.
But, according to longtime team insider John McClain, the Texans are simply keeping a “tight lid” on their impending selection.
McClain believes the Texans are completely sold on taking Kentucky quarterback Will Levis with their No. 2 overall pick.
“(Houston) has no indecision whatsoever, those are national media reports. They know what they’re going to do, they’ve just put a tight lid on it… With the 2nd pick I have them taking Will Levis in my final mock draft,” McClain said on 1075 The Fan on Wednesday morning.

A couple weeks ago, Levis was widely considered the fourth-best quarterback in this year’s class. But in the week leading up to tomorrow’s draft, his stock has skyrocketed. There’ve even been some rumblings about him possibly going with the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers.
The Texans will put all of this speculation to bed when they call their No. 2 overall pick in Kansas City tomorrow night.
