There are bad losses, then disappointing ones.
Then there’s Sunday night, where the Houston Texans found themselves on the wrong side of history.
Jared Goff threw a career-high five interceptions through three quarters and trailed by 10-plus points for most of the game. But the Texans couldn’t capitalize on the turnovers, scoring zero points and allowing 19 unanswered as the Detroit Lions capped off an epic 26-23 comeback, capped off by a Jake Bates game-winning 58-yard field goal.
The Lions trailed almost the entire night and fell behind 23-7 at halftime thanks to constant field goals from Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn and two scores from Joe Mixon and John Metchie III. It was a performance that seemed locked up as the team headed into the locker room with 30 minutes to go.
That was the last time motivation was on their side.
Here’s everything to know immediately after the Sunday’s disastrous ending in front of the home town crowd.
