The Ohio State Buckeyes got a hard-fought victory over Notre Dame this past week and former quarterback C.J. Stroud was more than happy to give his old team a shoutout – much to Kirk Herbstreit’s delight.
Speaking to the media after his most recent game and first NFL win as a starter for the Houston Texans, Stroud praised Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord and the Ohio State defense for how they performed on Saturday night. He praised the team for standing firm in the face of pressure
“For me, I mean, I come from Ohio State,” Stroud said, via Buckeyes Now. “Go Bucks, man. They got the dub [Saturday] in a hard-fought win. Kyle McCord: my dog. All those boys on the defense, man.”
Herbstreit, a former Ohio State quarterback in his own right, took to X and saluted Stroud for giving his beloved Buckeyes a shout.

The Buckeyes’ win over the Fighting Irish saw them jump back into the top four after an underwhelming first couple of wins against Indiana and Youngstown State.
Their final eight games will all be against Big Ten opposition though and very few of them will be easy. All of it culminates with The Game at Michigan at the end of the year.
Will Kyle McCord and the Buckeyes defense continue to earn the respect of CJ Stroud and Kirk Herbstreit?
