2023 was a season to remember in Houston.
After going 3-13-1 the year prior, rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and first-time head coach DeMeco Ryans helped change the culture in H-Town and led the team to a 10-7 record and divisional round playoff appearance.
The Texans’ offense was outstanding last season. And with the additions of players like Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon (and Danielle Hunter on defense), wide receiver Nico Collins told KPRC reporter Aaron Wilson that his team is looking “real dangerous” going into next year.
Oh yeah, it’s going to be dangerous, real dangerous, man. Adding Diggs to the room, it’s going to be a lot of weapons. There’s going to be great opportunities for everybody. It’s only adding more depth, more weapons to the offense, more weapons to the team. The sky is the limit for us. Can’t wait until the season is going to start. Man, it’s nice. I feel like the offense is a lot of weapons. Everybody has got a chance. When the ball is in their hands, an explosive play is coming. I feel like, for us, we need to continue to work on the details, continue to be us, continue to have fun and show the world what we can do. I can’t wait for it.
Collins put up career numbers with Stroud at QB, catching 80 balls for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns in Year 3.
Of course, there’s only one football to go around. But defenses will have to pick their poison with the Texans in 2024.
