Texans vs. Jaguars Friday injury report.
The Houston Texans are looking to bounce back this weekend, after an embarrassing loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Houston’s offense has not looked right throughout the first three weeks of the season, and it will be a bit more challenging with several key players up in the air against the Jacksonville Jaguars at home.
Here is a look at Thursday’s Houston Texans injury report:
DID NOT PARTICIPATE:
- Wide Receiver Tank Dell (Chest) OUT
- Running Back Dameon Pierce (Hamstring) OUT
- Safety Jimmie Ward (Groin) OUT
LIMITED PARTICIPATION:
- Defensive Tackle Folorunso Fatukasi (Shoulder) QUESTIONABLE
- Running Back Joe Mixon (Ankle) QUESTIONABLE
FULL PARTICIPATION:
- Left Guard Kenyon Green (Illness)
- Center Jarrett Patterson (Calf)
- Tight End Dalton Schultz (Ankle)
- Wide Receiver Nico Collins (Hamstring)
Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon returned to practice on Friday, which is great news for Houston’s offense, who are in desperate need of a boost from the run game. It looked initially as if Mixon would likely miss the Jaguars game, but there is now a legitimate chance that he will be out there.
Mixon will be a game-time decision, and if he can not go, it will be the Cam Akers show once again.
More good news for the Texans offense is that wide receiver Nico Collins practiced fully on Friday, meaning he will play against the Jaguars. Collins is off to an incredible start, nearing 400 yards receiving and a touchdown.
The Texans will be without starting safety Jimmie Ward, who is dealing with a groin injury. Expect to see a lot of rookie Calen Bullock, along with Eric Murray and M.J. Stewart.
Houston (-240) is currently favored by FanDuel Sportsbook to win against the Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.
