Houston Texans Thursday injury report.
The Houston Texans are looking to bounce back this weekend, after an embarrassing loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Houston’s offense has not looked right throughout the first three weeks of the season, and it will be a bit more challenging with several key players up in the air against the Jacksonville Jaguars at home.
Here is a look at Thursday’s Houston Texans injury report:
DID NOT PARTICIPATE:
- Wide Receiver Tank Dell (Chest)
- Running Back Joe Mixon (Ankle)
- Running Back Dameon Pierce (Hamstring)
- Safety Jimmie Ward (Groin)
LIMITED PARTICIPATION:
- Wide Receiver Nico Collins (Hamstring)
- Defensive Tackle Folorunso Fatukasi (Shoulder)
FULL PARTICIPATION:
- Left Guard Kenyon Green (Illness)
- Center Jarrett Patterson (Calf)
- Tight End Dalton Schultz (Ankle)
The Texans are trending towards being without their starting running back in Joe Mixon, along with their starting wide receiver in Tank Dell. Both are massive losses for a Texans team that is looking to bounce back.
Expect Cam Akers to get the start again, who had the Texans only touchdown last weekend. The Texans will likely lean on veteran Robert Woods to step in for Dell, but also keep your eye on former second-rounder John Metchie III, who could be active for the first time this season.
It would be a nightmare for the Texans if their best wide receiver in Nico Collins had to miss the game due to his hamstring injury, but he should be good to go if there are no setbacks, per source.
Hopefully the Texans have better news after Friday’s practice.
