Victor Bolden didn’t even have time to unpack.
The Houston Texans signed the 28-year-old wide receiver on Sunday. They waived him Monday.

Bolden is fighting for his first NFL action in five years. The 5-foot-8 wideout caught one pass for 10 yards (his only career reception) and returned five kickoffs for 116 yards with the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills in 2018.
He’s since spent time on the practice squad for the Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, and Denver Broncos without compiling any stats.
Last year, Bolden played for the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions and earned MVP honors with 64 receiving yards, a touchdown, and a 43-yard kick return in their 33-30 championship win over the Philadelphia Stars. He signed with the XFL’s Arlington Renegades in March.
Houston didn’t give Bolden much time to earn a roster spot. The Texans added Robert Woods to a young receiving corps led by Nico Collins and third-round pick Tank Dell. John Metchie III also returns after missing his rookie season with a leukemia diagnosis.
The Texans inched up from 32st to 31st in total offense last year, finishing 30th in scoring for the second straight season. A new tandem of head coach DeMeco Ryans and quarterback C.J. Stroud hopes to steer the organization back on the winning path.
