The Houston Texans burst onto the scene in a big way this past season.
They surprised everyone by winning not only the AFC South but a playoff game in quarterback C.J. Stroud’s first season.
They’re hungry for more success and it’s why they traded for star wide receiver Stefon Diggs last week. They want to win a Super Bowl during Stroud’s rookie contract and Texans owner Cal McNair is comfortable with that expectation.
“We embrace the expectations. It’s where we want to be. At the same time, it’s about building the team, the team being coached, and working hard. It’s the day-to-day things that will get us where we want to get to. We gotta stay focused and work hard every day to bring about where we want to go,” McNair said in an interview.
Diggs will be Stroud’s first target when he’s lined up out wide. The former joins an offense that already has Nico Collins, Robert Woods, and Tank Dell at wideout, plus Dalton Schultz at tight end.
Joe Mixon is also the new starting running back after coming over from Cincinnati.m
It’s going to be a hard unit to stop and it’s already led to fans placing bets on the Texans to win it all.
