Who am I picking this week
It was a rough week for the Texans and for me personally on the betting front. I came into the game 4-2 overall on bets, so I had a little bit of wiggle room to go. So, below is a look at who I picked and how that bet ended up coming out. Just a reminder that this is for entertainment purposes only. Our partners at the Fanduel sportsbook make this pretty easy and if you want to have a little bit of skin in the game it shouldn’t hurt.
The Line: Texans by 2.5— I took the Texans. We obviously know how that turned out.
Money line: I also took the Texans. That was a big loss.
Over/Under: 46.5 — I took the under and salvaged one win out of three on the day.
This brings the season total to five wins and four losses. With two of those wins coming on the money line, I probably would actually be in the hole to the gambling community if I were actually laying money on these games. However, as I predicted I would be somewhere around even.
The Line: Texans -6.5
I’m not a huge fan of this opening line. The Jaguars are a desperate football team and will be a team coming in pissed off on the backs of their 47-10 whacking on behalf of the Buffalo outfit. I am going to give the points to the Jaguars this week as I see them at least keeping this game close if not winning it outright. The Texans have not been as good as their 2-1 record would indicate. I still think the Texans win, but a touchdown just feels like too much.
The Money Line: Texans -250
You would need to wager 250 dollars to make 100 out of this game, but this one feels like a sucker bet. If you feel like chasing long shots then ball means put your money on the Jaguars. If they have any pride left they are going to bring all of it on Sunday. Teams do not recover from an 0-4 hole. So, I am taking the Texans to win a close one. I think it will end up being something along the lines of 31-28.
Over/Under: 45.5
The Texans have hit the under twice in a row, but there is something going on with this Jaguars defense. The Browns managed to move the ball on them when no one else did and their other two opponents obviously moved the ball when they needed to. I don’t see the Texans scoring 40 points, but I also don’t see them completely shutting down the Jaguars either. I am rolling the dice and taking the over.
We at Battle Red Blog urge everyone to only wager what they can afford to lose. As you can see by my performance last week, there is nothing guaranteed in the gambling community except for the fact that the Vegas boys always win. However. Fanduel is making it easy to join up and have a little bit of fun while you are watching the games. Have fun out there and always remember to bet responsibly.
