It was a win on two fronts for the Houston Texans in Saturday’s playoff game.
The Texans just notched their first playoff win in several years with tonight’s dominating Wild Card win over the Cleveland Browns. But whether they win a Super Bowl or get eliminated in the playoffs, the win will be even sweeter come April.
Per Albert Breer of The MMQB, the team’s first-round pick is higher as a result of today’s blowout win thanks to the Will Anderson trade that involved the Browns’ first-rounder and trading their own pick to the Arizona Cardinals.
One last bonus for the Texans: Their first-round pick is higher as a result of today’s win. They own the Browns’ first-rounder, and traded their own to the Cardinals to land Will Anderson with the third overall pick.
So they’ll wind up with the higher of the two picks they had.

There’s something special going on down in H-town and the Texans figure to be a tough out for any team they face this postseason.
Rookie C.J. Stroud finished 16-of-21 for 274 yards and three touchdowns in his playoff debut with a near-perfect passer rating.
They’re on to the divisional round where they’ll face the Ravens, Dolphins or Bills depending on how things shake out.
