Welcome back to NRG Stadium, Houston Texans fans.
After starting on the road in Canton for the Hall of Fame game, then traveling to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers, the Texans are back where they belong in Houston. They’ll look to pick up a second win of the preseason with a victory over the New York Giants in their preseason home opener.
Based on last week’s rep count, it’s expected that C.J. Stroud, Danielle Hunter and others will play in front of fans this week. How many reps? That remains a mystery, but going off of last season’s preseason, one could assume at least a quarter.
Perhaps names like Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon rest and wait to debut in the regular season. Others, like rookie cornerback Kamari Lassiter, would benefit from seeing extended reps past the first quarter.
Since it’s unknown if starters will see the field, here are 10 Texans players on defense who are trending up and fans can’t wait to see them make headlines in front of the home crowd.
