Giants legend wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. could save Texans season after Tank Dell injury. According to several reports, the Houston Texans will possibly be without their main perimeter wideout this upcoming postseason which could implicate their playoff chances. The team will just make it into the postseason with C.J. Stroud under center but they’ll already be without one of the best playmakers which could cost them to make a deep run in the playoffs. After already losing star wide receiver Stefon Diggs for the rest of the year, this may force the Texans to sign immediate help to recover so they could put themselves in the driver’s seat since losing against the Kansas City Chiefs in a tight race to have a solid spot in the AFC.
Houston will win the division no matter what, but the team might be one and done in the postseason next month similar to last season. The Texans will move forward with John Metchie, Nico Collins and Robert Woods as their main three wideouts. However, they lack depth behind them but the Texans could sign a veteran like Odell Beckham to provide that stability in a temporary role that may boost their chances. Originally selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the three-time Pro Bowler is still searching to join a contender and he might not have to wait for long.
Beckham doesn’t need to have a huge role in the offense but him being there might be efficient to move the chains and keep the Texans competitive. The Texans may have a clear-cut WR1 from Collins but they can’t afford to rely on him for most plays considering they want to give Stroud the best chance to win football games.

Other AFC Fits
Los Angeles Chargers
After barely beating the Denver Broncos, the Los Angeles Chargers could consider adding another wide receiver after failing to trade for one this season. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh must put Justin Herbert in the best position to win football games considering if he wants to maintain that long-term healthy relationship they have. Rookie Ladd McConkey is looking like he’ll be the main answer for the team’s offense to drive the ball to gain that leverage over opposing teams in situational moments. However, Quentin Johnston is still looking like his 2023 self so they may release him to add another talented wideout to give more efficiency in the aerial attack.
With Joshua Palmer becoming a free agent in 2025, the Chargers could sign Odell Beckham Jr. to have that consistent stability in the backend. Even though they brought Jalen Reagor to save this passing attack, he hasn’t been doing anything special to show why he’ll stick around. Signing Beckham could benefit the course of the game in a similar role to McConkey.
Kansas City Chiefs
The biggest story for the Kansas City Chiefs is that they’ll likely add another wideout before the postseason next month. They’re not backing down from that happening so while Diontae Johnson is available, they might benefit from Beckham. Johnson has lack of effort issues which may not persuade the Chiefs to pursue him. After securing DeAndre Hopkins in a trade and having Marquise Brown back from injury, they should put themselves in a perfect moment to go for a three-peat.
Patrick Mahomes still has his ongoing struggles with Travis Kelce so an extra acquisition could create some separation to finally connect the dots in the passing game. While Beckham is behind his prime days, it puts him in the best position to compete in a Super Bowl to win another ring.
