Leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft, there were concerns about C.J. Stroud’s grade on the S2 Cognition test. Though he was still the No. 2 pick, it was a major talking point for weeks.
Fast forward to January, where Stroud has the Houston Texans competing in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. In his postseason debut, he had 274 passing yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Cleveland Browns.
With Stroud clearly on track to be a franchise quarterback, the Wall Street Journal did some digging regarding Stroud’s results on the S2 Cognition test.
The creators of the S2 Cognition test told the Wall Street Journal that Stroud’s results should’ve never leaked to the public. In fact, his score was flagged as “potentially invalid and an unreliable result.”
It’s unclear why Stroud’s score was so low. The creators of the S2 Cognition test said that sometimes athletes are distracted while taking the exam.

Stroud’s rookie season has been so impressive that NFL teams might not put much stock in the S2 Cognition test for this year’s draft.
We’ll see Stroud in action this afternoon when the Texans and Ravens kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET.
