Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud didn’t have it during his NFL debut on Thursday night.
Even though it was just the preseason, Stroud only completed two-of-four passes for 13 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. He was also sacked once for a loss of 15 yards.

Davis Mills, who is Stroud’s backup, came in for him during the first half as the Texans are currently up 3-0.
Even though this was a rough performance for Stroud, there’s no doubt he’ll learn from it. Preseason is just practice for the regular season and he’ll have a shot at playing better next week when the Texans take on the Miami Dolphins.
Stroud was the second-overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Ohio State and was the second quarterback to get taken after Bryce Young, who went to the Carolina Panthers.
