The Houston Texans are adding to their secondary to start the 2024 NFL Draft.
With the No. 42 overall pick, the Texans selected Georgia cornerback Kamari Lassiter.
Lassiter stands 6-0 and weighs 180 pounds, and he played at Georgia during their two National Championship seasons.
Adding Lassiter gives the Texans some more depth in the secondary behind Derek Stingley Jr., who is entering his third NFL season. Given the fact that the Texans finished 29th in completion percentage in 2023, this pick certainly addresses a need.
Lassiter only allowed one passing touchdown during his tenure at Georgia, which shows signs of him becoming a true shutdown corner someday. He can play inside or outside and the Texans can mix and match with whatever personnel they have and go from there.
